LIFT LAB – Educational Experiments in Sustainability

May 9, 2018 | Staff | 0 comments

The LIFT LAB celebrates the range of projects funded in the University’s LIFT: Learning Innovation for Tomorrow programme this year. LIFT supports staff to change their academic practice, inspired by Education for Sustainability (EfS). 10 new projects across 7 academic schools and a linked R&D strand will share their experiments and engage in dialogues and workshop sessions with Education for Sustainability experts and National Teaching Fellows from the University. We welcome globally-recognised sustainability education specialist Professor Stephen Sterling to provide our headline presentation and ‘how-to’ surgery session. Stephen is National Teaching Fellow and is renowned for his scholarship and education change work on the inter-relationships between ecological thinking, systemic change, and learning at individual and institutional scales, to accelerate educational responses to the sustainability agenda. He led Plymouth University’s Centre for Sustainable Futures (CSF) CETL, was Senior Advisor to the HEA on education for sustainable development (ESD) and created the HEA Future Fit framework, wrote for the 2016 UNESCO Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report and is advisor to UNESCO’S international ESD programmes See event programme here
