How the RCE works

RCE Severn is the University’s platform for external collaborations and partnership activities on sustainability with our local and regional communities. We work with organisations and individuals in the public, private and third sectors on training activities, applied projects and to share opportunities that support learning and change for sustainability.
Our RCE Severn leaflet explains how we work with partners and how you can become involved.

As part of the Global RCE network, RCE Severn shares learning and good practice at regional, national and international levels with other RCEs. The RCE Portal brings together the activities of the international RCE community of over 150 RCEs on all continents. RCE Severn reports formally on its activities each year to the United Nations University and informal communications happen through RCE newsletters, emails, and conferences.

The RCE Severn Advisory Group informs the overall development and direction of the RCE, representing key local stakeholder groups and helping to broker collaborative action on sustainability in our region.

In 2018 we revised the RCE terms of reference to create stronger links between the University’s new sustainability strategy, the expertise within our academic schools and the interests of external partners.
