We are inspired and so proud to see the sustainability changes being led at University of Gloucestershire by our students and each year we celebrate them at the annual Students’ Union Gnomie Awards.

The Green Gnome in the SU student awards recognises all round excellence in sustainability. This year, the shortlisted nominees were:

  • The team behind ‘Farid the Zine’ – recognised for their climate issue which covered everything from fast fashion, to COP26, deforestation, sceptical environmentalism and much
  • Will Weaving – nominated as a result of his work to bring students and staff together to plant 105 native trees across Oxstalls and Park campuses
  • The Business and Enterprise Society – who have been advocates for sustainability throughout the year, running a sustainability focused week in their society as well as introducing practice changes such as using digital notes, reusable cups, hybrid meetings and socials, and encouraging car sharing to events and socials

Congratulations to the overall winner, our very own Will Weaving!
